The drive package for the Battery Electric version of the Silvermine 11SR has been defined. The package consists of the battery packs, drive motor, final drive/differential unit, inverter, and the battery management system. Each of the four battery packs consists of four battery modules in a liquid-tight and fireproof enclosure, with standardised electric connections, […]

PRE-DESIGN OF ELECTRIC VERSION
A Battery Electric version of the Silvermine 11SR was subject of a feasibility study. Calculations were made to check the combination of propulsive power and torque, car weight, acceleration and top speed, and track day session time. Based on positive results of the calculations, a pre-design of the battery storage en drive systems was […]
NEW DESIGN OF RACE SEAT
A new race seat design was made, to improve driver position and comfort, making full use of the available space inside the safety cell. The design will fit persons with larger stature, while still keeping the driver’s head properly inside the roll-over limits. The seat will be produced by Silvermine, and will be adjusted […]
WIRE ROUTING DETAILED
The lay-out and routing of the wiring looms were modelled in 3D. Wiring looms are roughly divided into forward, central and aft sections. The sections are connected at the bulkheads by means of circular multipole connectors. The connectors were selected for the specific duty and current capacity. For more information, contact us at […]
11SR PRODUCTION CAPTURED
Various production stages of the Silvermine 11SR were generated in our CAD-system, and captured to create a short video. This video shows the step-by-step process of creating a track day car according to Silvermine standards. Click here to see the video. For more information, contact us at info@silvermine.nl
INLET AIR FLOW ANALYSED
We are busy with detail development of the air inlet system. Supercharger, intercooler, inlet plenum and six inlet ducts are the ingredients, perfect integration of all components is the challenge. An important step in this process is analysis of the (pulsating) inlet air flow. This was done by German specialist company MantiumCAE, who created a […]
WING STABILITY IMPROVED
The stability of the rear wing was improved by a newly designed stay. Made of thin aluminium tube, the diagonal stay will prevent resonance of the wing construction at high speed. For more information, contact us at info@silvermine.nl
SEQUENTIAL SHIFTER DESIGNED
The new sequential gearbox will be controlled by an electric/pneumatic shifting system. The driver’s shift lever will comprise commands for up/downshifting, neutral gear selection and unlocking reverse gear. The shift lever unit fulfils the same functions as a paddle shift + neutral/reverse selection button, while remaining loyal to the “mechanical” character of the Silvermine […]
DRIVE SHAFTS UPGRADED
After the testing and race-demonstration phase, the (standard) CV joints of the drive shafts were found to be at the end of their service life. New, stronger CV joints were acquired, new intermediate shafts were produced, and the drive shafts were assembled and installed in the car. The upgraded drive shafts will be […]
SUPERCHARGER: ITERATION NO. 3
The supercharger make was changed and the intecooler has been optimised. The next step will be to work out details of the inlet ducts and fuel injection. For more information, contact us at info@silvermine.nl
