The new sequential gearbox will be controlled by an electric/pneumatic shifting system. The driver’s shift lever will comprise commands for up/downshifting, neutral gear selection and unlocking reverse gear.
The shift lever unit fulfils the same functions as a paddle shift + neutral/reverse selection button, while remaining loyal to the “mechanical” character of the Silvermine car.
Electric signals from the shift lever will be processed by a control unit in concert with the car’s ECU, and will operate the gearbox through electric and pneumatic actuators.
