After installation of the engine/gearbox in the prototype car, all auxiliary systems were connected and tested.
The engine bay wiring loom was re-installed, and all sensors and actuators were connected and tested.
After filling the systems with coolant fluid and lubricating oil, and filling the tanks with fuel, the engine was carefully cranked before starting.
Then the engine was started, brought up to temperature and revved through its speed range. Apart from an initial emission of white smoke due to condensation inside the unused engine, the engine ran smooth and without hesitation or backfiring.
The next step is mounting of the engine bay bottom panel and fitting of the hinged rear body. A test drive will be organised soon.
